Welcome to the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Kansas!
Karen Kay Weis, Governor
Our Society strives to tell the story of our Pilgrim ancestor’s voyage to the New World in 1620. We are thankful for their perseverance, steadfastness and bravery. Their signing of the Mayflower Compact at Cape Cod on November 11, 1620 is historic. The Mayflower Compact was drafted and signed aboard the ship and was the first document to establish self-government in the New World. Proven lineal descent from at least one of the 102 passengers who sailed on the Mayflower has given us the opportunity to become members of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Kansas which was Chartered in 1914. May we Kansas members prove ourselves worthy to the legacy of these Pilgrims.
PURPOSE of the SOCIETY:
The Society of Mayflower Descandants in the State of Kansas, in addition to educating our members, seeks to educate and engage the public about our Mayflower history, the Pilgrim’s way of life, their Wampanoag neighbors, and the ultimate development of our country. Our education includes funding a college scholarship in addition to providing access to and references for historical materials. We gather as a group twice yearly for fellowship and educational programs.
All Mayflower descendants are welcome and the Society promotes pluralism and diversity, providing a positive environment for all members.
The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Kansas operates as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization
