ABOUT US
Purpose of the Society
The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Kansas, in addition to educating our members, seeks to educate and engage the public about our Mayflower history, the Pilgrim's way of life, their Wampanoag neighbors, and the ultimate development of our country. Our education includes funding a college scholarship in addition to providing access to references for historical materials.

We gather as a group twice yearly for fellowship and educational programs. All Mayflower descendants are welcome and the Society promotes pluralism and diversity, providing a positive environment for all members. The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Kansas operates as 501 (c) (3) charitable organization.
Membership
Our Society is a diverse and congenial group dedicated to preserving and educating the public on the Pilgrims arriving at Plymouth, Massachusetts on the Mayflower. While nearly half of the 102 Mayflower passengers who arrived on the shores of Massachusetts died during the first winter, 26 families of passengers are known to have left descendants. The Society celebrates our ancestral legacy, preserves the Pilgrims memory and works to educate the public on their historical voyage and historical significance.

Sponsoring a Junior Member in the Kansas Mayflower Society is a simple process that allows us to introduce our children to their Mayflower ancestry and encourage pride in this remarkable heritage. We hope that Junior Membership will encourage them to join our society in the future.
